Marketing (Cinematic Shorts and Road Map)
I often use cinematic storytelling techniques in my animations. In this scene, the TV screen showing a reporter talking about the discovery of the main character turns out to be a live camera feed from inside a television studio, and the camera smoothly transitions into the interview with Gambo. This allowed me to save time on building additional sets while also creating an interesting directorial and narrative device.
This is a perfect example of saving production time while still achieving an interesting compositional effect. A background inspired by classic film-noir cinema combined with cartoon-style characters placed at the center of the story.
An efficient and visually striking use of After Effects’ Particle World effect to generate multiple chess pieces at once, simulating the main character’s speed as he defeats successive opponents.
My animations are fully sound-designed by me — I compose the music myself and also use AI tools for sound design. I’m fluent in voice acting and in working with AI-based sound-effect platforms such as ElevenLabs.
A 5+ minute epic telling the origin story of Gambo as a legendary player. In this piece, I used a ‘road map’ storytelling device — each stage of Gambo’s evolution is marked on a map that leads to the top of a mountain, symbolizing success. The animation blends meme-style cartoon humor with motion design, all brought together with AI voice-over and sound design fully arranged and directed by me.
Game Assets
For this game, I also created in-game assets for the gameplay itself. Here is an example of the Gambo Coins counter, which reacts and changes visually depending on the size of the win.
The gameplay itself also features animations created by me — piece movement, capturing an opponent’s piece, and the king in danger are all part of my animation work.
I also designed the chessboard and the individual pieces, with Gambo as the king. The color palette is intentionally non-traditional for classic chess — because Gambo Chess Cam is a casino-inspired game, I used deep burgundy for the black pieces and a soft terracotta for the dark squares of the board to preserve clarity and visibility.
Additionally, I animated over 20 stickers and emotes from the Gambo Games universe for use across the game and the entire platform.
Thanks Gambo!
